FDA Clears Happy Health Smart Ring for Cuffless Blood Pressure Monitoring (Oct 8, 2026)
The FDA has cleared Happy Health's smart ring for continuous, cuffless, calibrationless blood pressure monitoring, adding to the company's existing FDA clearance for at-home sleep apnea diagnosis. The clearance rests on a validation study of 850 paired measurements from 85 patients, compared against arterial-line readings and covering a range from normal pressure through stage 2 hypertension. It landed three days before this report and is one of several recent clearances for consumer blood pressure technology. Apple's FDA-cleared hypertension feature, which analyzes 30 days of optical pulse data and issues a notification without showing a number, and Aktiia's Hilo band, cleared in July 2025 for calibrated readings using an upper-arm cuff, are among the others.
