Legora announced first, on Tuesday, and Law360 reported both launches as Wednesday announcements, so the exact dates vary by source. Legora previewed Intake in late September with an October 7 target, and its official launch came October 13. Harvey followed October 14. Legora has said it will extend Intake to Microsoft Teams, email and MCP connections, but those integrations are not yet available. Harvey says early access begins this month. It is not known whether either company knew the other's plans. No regulators or legislation are involved. Wordsmith, another UK startup, launched its own product also called Intake in August.
For in-house counsel evaluating intake tools, the practical question is which system fits where requests already arrive: Slack, Teams, email, or contract platforms. Harvey says it works with more than 1,600 in-house legal teams, including five Fortune 10 companies, and names Carvana, GE Aerospace and Dentsu as design partners. Legora says in-house teams now make up about half its UK clients and that it announced more than 30 integrations on October 14. Watch the early-access rollout and the Teams and email connectors. The competition for the in-house market is now head-to-head, and intake and triage is becoming a core product category.
