- Notice period: 35 days from filing to noticed hearing date (Civil L.R. 7-2(a))
- Opposition deadline: 14 days after the motion was filed (Civil L.R. 7-3(a))
- Reply deadline: 7 days after the opposition was due (Civil L.R. 7-3(c))
- Motion/opposition page limit: 25 pages of text (Civil L.R. 7-4(b) and 7-2(b))
- Reply page limit: 15 pages of text (Civil L.R. 7-4(b))
- Meet-and-confer: Required before filing discovery motions (Civil L.R. 37-1(a)); pre-filing conference also required before most motions (Civil L.R. 7-3(a) cross-reference and judge-specific standing orders)
- Oral argument: At the judge's discretion; may be determined without oral argument (Civil L.R. 7-1(b))
- Formatting: Double-spaced, 12-point proportionally spaced font (e.g., Times New Roman), no more than 28 lines per page, 8.5 x 11 paper (Civil L.R. 3-4(c))
- Electronic filing: Mandatory for all attorneys via CM/ECF; midnight deadline for same-day filing (Civil L.R. 5-1)
- Pro hac vice: Certificate of good standing required (no more than 1 year old); local California co-counsel required; fee due at first appearance (Civil L.R. 11-3)
- Summary judgment: No separate statement of undisputed facts unless ordered by the judge (Civil L.R. 56-2(a))
